What Customers Say About Don't Worry Mama (Yaoi Novel):

The seme was mean ( I mean super mean) to the point where I had to stop and close the book for a long long time before picking it up and reading again. And not to mention the translation (or maybe it was originally like this) of the novel is really awkward and stilted, very unpleasant to read. I like yaoi, I enjoy my boy-love and everything that's involved with said yaoi; but this novel was just horrible.I did not buy it, I borrowed it from a friend; and I really tried to like this, I mean I really did, but it was just too bad. Don't waste your money on this, there are plenty other yaoi novels that are about 1,000 times better than this one. The characters are unlikeable, the plot line is farfetched (even for a yaoi title), and all together it's just bad. The characters are extremely unlikeable to the point where I didn't even want to continue reading. The only time you see the boss (the uke) is when he lost weight and I don't know if I was offended or what, but I just did not like it.

I didn't really care that much because I thought that the description of the sex scenes were going to be more graphic. I thought that the plot in the story was thought out pretty well though.

:( The drawings were great because they were done by Yuki Shimizu. It was just slightly weird because everything in the story was explained pretty well besides the xxx scenes.

When I bought this book the reviews for it were higher. I didn't like how the artist didn't show pictures of Imakura (uke) when he was large.

Overall, it was an enjoyable read but missing some good aspects. I didn't know that the uke in the beginning of the story was going to be fat.

Some of the scenes were graphic but not explained that well.

It isn't until they are stranded on an island that feelings begin to shift. There might be spelling errors here and there and it's not as long as you hope it should be but it was a fun read and the characters were lovable, not in the beginning though. Let me first start with my trip to the bookstore, I was hoping for some BL manga but could find none and then decided I'd trust DMP once more and so bought this novel. It wasn't until I got through the chapters that I realized I had missed a sort of major subject of the book. This novel takes places in two parts one is Yuichi's POV of the story on the island with Imakura and then it switches to Imakura's POV in the city. Well obviously this is the part where some people go ew and closed the book. In the beginning Yuichi describes his much detested boss Imakura an obese, mean mama's boy.

The struggles following their second chance meeting is endearing. Just as their Paradise seems close to perfect they're rescued and separated that is until they meet again.

How had I missed that. It doesn't take him long to slowly seduce Imakura who after a few weeks not only loses his virginity but sheds a few pounds as well.

When I read the summary on the back I was really excited, after I got through a few pages i realized something was wrong. Yuichi alone and probably starving for human contact, begins to realize a few things, his much detested co-worker just might be.cute.

All in all I recommend this book for people who want a little taste of something new it's not everyday you get a couple like this. The uke was FAT.

No, I kept going and realized I loved it.

at least the sex is consensual (for yaoi values of consent), but the main flaw for me is that konohara can't write consistent, believable characters. his other head was doing some weird thinking there. and the plot past the rescue falls apart completely; i ended up not believing their love for each other either.the translation is so-so; it could be better, but i've seen much worse. it's my third attempt at a konohara novel, and will remain my last. the writing itself is on the level of a harlequin romance; about what can be expected from the genre i'm afraid. i find less to complain about regarding yuichi, though why exactly did he fall in love with imakura. yaoi manga has the art to potentially make up for any lack of writing ability, but the sparse illustrations don't save a bad novel.

which isn't about his obesity -- i don't care that he's fat. but it just never comes together for me because i don't believe the characters. these all good story seeds. i was in fact looking forward to reading yaoi in which a fat person becomes one of the lovers; it's unfortunately generally not done. the island plot, while somewhat unlikely, is actually handled reasonably well.

this one is a little better than "the man who wouldn't take off his clothes", but not by much. his character also falls apart after the rescue; where was the go-getter and organizer from the island.i really wanted to like this novel because parts of the story are original -- aside from imakura being fat (and despite some loss remaining fat while they fall in love) there's also the phimosis and later his personal growth in trying to carve out a new career for himself. i disliked him from the start, and didn't buy his 180 degree conversion into a loveable cuddly puppy who actively contributes to survival; it was too abrupt. imakura starts out being utterly despicable. but not only is he rude, mean, incompetent, childish, and demanding -- once they're marooned on the island and he still has food, he refuses to share even when begged by his hungry co-worker.

Within a few pages he's instantly reverted to being kinda clingy and needy. There's a plot (kind of cliche, but nicely done with some interesting twists) but I have to warn you that the characters change dramatically. (Fanfiction. It's a bit irritating.Anyways, I'm rating this 3 stars because it did keep my attention through and through. Don't get me wrong, I know that alot of people (myself included) are just drawn to that kind of stuff, but it's pretty much the same thing over and over until it gets boring. Wow.

To be honest, I've read fanfiction that's better written with just the same mature content. For example, one changes from being completely childish, rude, stubborn, and otherwise undesireable. My first yaoi novel, and boy was I surprised when I got it. For example, I flipped to a random page 7 times, and it had pretty much the same stuff on it.The first half has to be the best part. If you are a yaoi fan, this is a must have, but if you're indecisive because of costs, I recommend going to a fanfiction site and reading what's on there for an idea of what this is all about. (I didn't read that it wasn't a manga.it's actual text, guys). Not bad overall, but you can definitely tell that English isn't Narise Konohara's first language.

net)There was just a little -too- much mature content.
